The Emotional benefit of being a worm farmer

Mr Ogweng Peter (with clamp) former LC1 a board member
enjoys practicing vermiculture to feed his 3 fish ponds

Vermiculture is a soothing, satisfying and stress relieving hobby. It is one of the best ways to escape from a stressful day. All you need is to just put aside only five minutes of your time in a day and you will be feeling more in touch with yourself and with nature.

How to do it

Put a chair right next to your compost unit and play classical jazz, gospel or new age music while attending to them. Other activities like digging or weeding gardens will need a bit of your concentration and a lot of energy to do. Taking care of your worms will be as simple as hitting the play button on your music player and raising your feet on the chair as you sip a cool drink to calm you down.

It is an inclusive model that leaves nobody behind.

If you are confined to a wheelchair / persons with disability, vermiculture is the perfect way for you to enjoy life as you also earn a living. What a superb and satisfying hobby or even a vocation this would be for you. Vermiculture puts you back intouch with nature in a delightful way. And don’t forget the “wow” factor… Your friends and family will hold you in awe for your impressive agricultural achievements.
